EXPO2025大阪万博（以下、万博）が開幕して、予想以上にすごかった！楽しかった！という声をよく聞きます。
そう、開幕前は酷評もあった万博は、蓋を開けてみると、期待を遥かに上回る完成度だったのです。
私たちが万博を想像するとき、それはワクワク・ドキドキに溢れた光り輝く祝祭のイメージです。
半年間のイノベーション、文化、そして繋がりの祭典。
しかし、そのような世界規模の祭典をせっかく見事に創り上げることができたのに、なぜそれを短期間で消し去らなければならないのか？
その気になれば、運営さんは単なる「短期間のイベント」ではなく、永きにわたって未来への生きた遺産を開催できるのではないでしょうか？
残り1ヶ月の現実と未達成の約束
万博も残すところ1ヶ月となりました。
今になって「駆け込み万博」で会場は混雑するばかりです。
しかし、運営が当初目標に掲げていた「並ばない万博」は、結局未達成のまま終わろうとしています。
この状況こそが、万博延長の必要性を物語っているのではないでしょうか？
異常気象の暑さで行けなかった人々、体調不良で行けなかった人々、家が遠くて諦めた人々、仕事の都合で時間が取れなかった人々……多くの人がまだ万博を体験できずにいます。
半年という短期間では、すべての人に平等に機会を提供することは不可能だったのです。
行きたくても行けない現実

特に関西以外からは、遠すぎて交通費がかさむ。
物価高騰が続く中、家族で万博に行く費用は家計に重い負担となる。
育児に追われる親、激務に忙殺される会社員……
時間を作ること自体が困難な状況です。
せっかく行けても残念な体験
そして、なんとか時間と費用を捻出して行けた人々からも、厳しい現実が報告されています→
異常気象による酷暑の中、万博会場までの行き帰りは苦行のよう。
会場内も人であふれかえり、思った以上に地獄。
肝心のパビリオンはどこも大混雑で入ることすらできず、「並ばない万博」どころか「並び続ける万博」だったという声が後を絶ちません。
万博を10年以上延長する構想
万博を、無期限に開催する。
これができたら、万博好きな人々の安心感は半端ないかもしれません。
万博を予定終了日を超えて継続するには、大胆な発想が必要です。

恒久的な未来地区：パビリオンが研究拠点や文化センターに変身し、年々進化していく姿を。
テーマの循環交響曲：毎年新しい課題——気候、宇宙、健康、AIなど——に特化した年間プログラムを。
永遠のデジタルパビリオン：世界中の人々が2025年以降も長期にわたって大阪万博を仮想現実で体験できる仕組みを。

とはいえ、ひとまずは半年というのはあまりに短すぎなので、理想的には少なくとも1年間（+1～2ヶ月、アンコール的なのん）継続して、判断するのがいいかもですね。
大屋根リングの完成度を無駄にしてはいけない
特に注目すべきは、大屋根リングをはじめとする万博会場の驚異的な完成度です。
これらの建造物は単なる一時的な構造物ではあってはいけません。
USJやディズニーランドのように、永続的な価値を持つ施設として機能し続けることができるはずです。
この美しく壮大なインフラストラクチャーをたったの半年で解体してしまうのは、まさに文明の浪費と言えるでしょう。
代わりに、これらの施設を未来への長期的な投資として活用すべきなのです。
ミャクミャクとの別れは早すぎる
そして何より、あのかわいすぎるミャクミャクとまだまだ一緒にいたいと思いませんか？
ミャクミャクは単なるマスコットキャラクターを超えて、まさに万博の魂（ソウル）となっています。
時報代わりの美しい噴水ショーとともに、ミャクミャクは万博会場に命を吹き込んでいるようにも感じとれますね。
これらすべてを半年で終わらせてしまうのは、あまりにももったいないことです！
もし閉幕が避けられないなら：すべての人のための大学
しかし、万博が2025年に確実に終了しなければならないとしても、物語はそこで終わる必要はありません。会場は次のように生まれ変われるポテンシャルを秘めています→
